If you haven’t heard of Roku, check it out: Roku Express 4K+ | Roku Streaming Device 4K/HDR, Roku Voice Remote, Free & Live TV

My family dropped our expensive satellite dish service and switched to Roku many years ago and have saved a TON of money! I highly recommend it! Link: amzn.to/3DOOUHF

IN A NUTSHELL:
The movie was adapted from Richard McGuire’s 2014 graphic novel of the same name. The film reunites the director, writer, and stars in the movie Forrest Gump: Robert Zemeckis, Eric Roth, Tom Hanks, and Robin Wright!
The story is about several families who inhabit the same house over generations, and the many moments of their lives.
Already, the movie has been nominated for various awards such as “Best Time Capsule” and “Best Intergenerational Film”.

TIPS FOR PARENTS:
• Kids will be bored. So will some adults.
• A baby falls off an ottoman, which is horrifying (but thankfully, looks like CGI)
• Some profanity
• Some alcohol
• Talk of a “premarital relationship” that results in pregnancy

THINGS I LIKED:
• Tom Hanks. I’ll watch anything with him in it. He’s so fantastic in everything he does.
• Robin Wright also does a great job.
• The entire cast is terrific and includes Michelle Dockery, Jonathan Aris, Beau Gadsdon, Ophelia Lovibond, Kelly Reilly, and Paul Bettany (I adore him), among others.
• The de-aging effect is incredible! We see a few actors turn old too. Tom Hanks and Robin Wright looked like they were back in Forest Gump!
• I liked the idea of showing a piece of land and the people who inhabited it over centuries, experiencing life’s big and small moments.
• If you enjoy history, you’ll get a kick out of watching the time periods come and go.
• It’s really fun to see the changing technology, cars, entertainment, music, fashion, and décor.
• I’ve always been fascinated by one-location movies. They did a great job showing the passage of time, all from one room.
• It was sobering to see the Black father teach his son how to handle the situation if/when he ever got pulled over by a cop.
• The camerawork and filmmaking is terrific. The entire movie is filmed from a camera that stays in one place the entire time (mostly).
• The movie did a great job balancing sadness with joy.
• The ending brought tears to my eyes.
• The musical score by Alan Silvestri is so lovely, especially at the end of the film. It drips with nostalgia and melancholy.
• The camera only pans out at the end of th movie to show us other areas of the house, reminding us that our perspective changes throughout our life.
