Want to see a wimpy morally cowardly bishop? A rabbit caught in the headlights? Reminds me of Oliver Hardy when Laurel turns him into a chimpanzee "Speak to me Ollie" "I have nothing to say to you!" . Come back Oliver Cromwell all is forgiven!!!

Prof. John Kelly TD remarked in 1984 on the bishops attending the New Ireland Forum to answer questions: "it has to be the first time since St. Patrick that the bishops of Ireland had to think on their feet!" This bishop coudn't obbviously "I dont like being doorstepped" He thought it was bad manners for Mrs Burke to ask him a question about her son now facing eating his Christmas dinner yet again with the rats (the four legged ones) in Mountjoy. Her son is defending the religious freedom this bishop is supposed to be standing up for which could affect his own religious freedom in the future. Remember Jesus in the sermon on the Mount: "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of rightousness" and "I was in prison and you came to visit me" . Bishop Hayes cannot call to vindicate the religious rights of prisoners and fail to stand up for Enoch Burke. His boorishness to the Burkes was truly shocking. What an embarrassment for Catholics!
