Khamenei Blames US-Israel For Assad's Ouster, Alludes To Turkish Role, Russia Slams Golan Occupation

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei said that Iran has evidence showing the US and Israel had plotted to topple Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. In an apparent reference to Turkey, Khamenei also highlighted the role of a “neighbouring country” in the rebel offensive. Khamenei said that Assad’s fall will not weaken Iran’s “axis of resistance” and “occupied areas of Syria will be liberated by the earnest Syrian youth.” Iranian intelligence agencies had been warning Assad about potential threats for three months, but these warnings were ignored, Khamenei said.
