Oil Painting ‘Vincent’: Creating an Eerie Portrait

Hello, friends!
I hope your day is going wonderfully! When I began this painting, the vibrant scarlet red immediately caught my attention. I knew I wanted to use it as the backdrop but wasn’t quite sure where the composition would lead me. As I started sketching out the form of a head and shoulders, the painting began to take shape. The intense red background paired with the emerging figure guided me toward a mysterious and unsettling vibe. The process was organic, and as the features came together, the character I envisioned became "Vincent"—a slightly eerie, enigmatic older gentleman who might linger where he doesn’t belong.
This was such a fun and expressive piece to work on, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on the final result! If you enjoyed this video. I would appreciate it if you would consider subscribing and liking the video.
