The normal Christian life is not a straight line of continual growth but rather a jagged line resembling two steps forward and one step back. If you find yourself in this pattern do not be discouraged. The saints of old found themselves struggling with the same frustrations. Just don't stop the upward climb or worse put an end to any slipping back down the hill.
