Yemen's Houthis Attack US Warships in Red Sea, Arabian Seas;
emen's Houthis claim they targeted US naval vessels in the Red and Arabian Seas with drones and missiles on November 12. A spokesperson for the Iran-backed group stated the first operation targeted a US aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea, while the second struck two destroyers in the Red Sea. The spokesperson added that the operations lasted eight hours. The Pentagon confirmed the attacks on the USS Stockdale and USS Spruance in the Red Sea, stating that the strikes were successfully repelled with no damage or casualties. The Pentagon also reported airstrikes on Houthi weapons facilities in Yemen on November 9 and 10, in response to a series of attacks on international shipping. Since 2023, the Houthis have attacked over 90 merchant ships in the region.
