Son Dong sculpture village

Son Dong traditional craft village in Hanoi has a long history, inspired by the spread of Buddhism into Vietnam. The village is famous for its wood carving art, creating works such as Lady Buddha with glasses, Shakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, and many other worship objects. The independent feature of the village is the delicate combination of the art of gold lacquer, only found in Son Dong. Today, Son Dong craft village's products account for 50% of the market share of gold-painted altar wares, enriching the spiritual and cultural life of the people.
