The session was co-chaired by the heads of the Russian and Indian military departments.

'India is one of Russia's key partners, and relations between our countries are of a particularly privileged strategic nature. The unprecedented level of trust between our countries is evidenced by the intensity and depth of military and military-technical interaction, which has great prospects for growth,' Andrei Belousov said.

The Russian Defence Minister congratulated the Indian Defence Ministry on the frigate Tushil commissioned into the Indian Navy. The flag hoisting ceremony took place yesterday in Kaliningrad with the participation of Minister of Defence of India Rajnath Singh.

The Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation noted that the parties will summarise the results of joint efforts over the past period and identify priorities for the future during the meeting. In turn, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasised that defence cooperation is a key pillar of Indian-Russian strategic partnership.

'Our comprehensive military and military-technical relations now include joint development, joint production, and the possibility of exports to other countries. This reflects the high level of mutual trust and understanding between our ministries responsible for defence and security. We will continue to move along this positive path,' said Rajnath Singh.

He also noted that India is considering new areas of cooperation with Russia, focused on improving interaction and increasing the economic component in bilateral relations.
