Hello all! This video centers around the Hungarian M44 Mosin-Nagant, it is one of the more rare M44 models out there. They were manufactured in Hungary after the communist government was forced onto the nation under the iron curtain. They were meant to replace the Mannlicher and Mauser patterns in Hungarian service during the war. The FÉG (Fémáru Fegyver és Gépgyár) factory in Budapest manufactured them with the distinctive "02" markings that are found on these rifles crests and on parts throughout the gun. Production numbers are not well known so therefore hard to deternine. They are essentially the same as a Russian M44! They were notably used in the Hungarian revolution of 1956, which can be heard bein discussed in the overlaying audio.

It is an honor to help preserve this rifle so it can tell its stories for more generations to come.
