✴️✴️Great family Christmas movie! We would give this a G rating, except for a few exclamations (e.g. "damn" or "hell") that parents may not want their younger children hearing. ⭐️The film emphasizes traditional American Christmas values like family, the magic of Christmas, belief in Santa Claus, and the importance of togetherness and reconciliation. Scott's journey from a work-focused, somewhat distant father to one who embraces his role in bringing joy to children worldwide reflects values of personal growth, family bonding, and the spirit of giving. The narrative also promotes the idea of maintaining the magic of childhood and the importance of trust and faith in familial relationships
Plot:
The Santa Clause follows Scott Calvin, a divorced father and toy salesman, who accidentally causes Santa Claus to fall off his roof on Christmas Eve. After putting on Santa's suit to rectify the situation, Scott finds himself magically transforming into Santa Claus. He must then complete the Christmas Eve deliveries and navigate his new life as Santa, convincing his son Charlie, and later his family and friends, of his new identity. Over time, Scott physically transforms into Santa, growing a beard and gaining weight, and he must embrace his new role fully by the next Christmas.
Characters:
Scott Calvin/Santa Claus, played by Tim Allen, is the protagonist who transitions from a regular businessman to Santa.
Charlie Calvin, Scott's son, played by Eric Lloyd, who is instrumental in believing in his father's transformation.
Laura Miller, Scott's ex-wife, portrayed by Wendy Crewson, who initially doubts Scott's claims.
Neal Miller, Laura's new husband, played by Judge Reinhold, who is skeptical of Scott's Santa persona.
Bernard, the head elf, played by David Krumholtz, who guides Scott in his new role.
Other characters include various elves, reindeer, and supporting roles like school staff and neighbors.
