In 1932, world celebrity Charles Lindbergh and his wife suffered a horrible personal tragedy when their baby son Chas disappeared from his crib in Hopewell, NJ. What began as an apparent kidnapping, soon morphed into a tale that was equal parts bizarre, tragic, and downright absurd. Negotiations were conducted by a retired high school principal, while the FBI extracted an estimated 200 false confessions, peoples’ lives were ruined, not least of all the main victim himself.
