Shifting Our Perspective of "Why God, Why?"

In our challenging seasons, we may ask God "Why? Why am I going through this? Why is my child or my spouse or my parent or my friend going through this difficulty?" There's another perspective we can take in these situations.

Instead of asking God "why is this happening", we can have a shift in perspective if we ask God "What do you want me to learn from this? What work do you want to do in me in this situation? What can I do to glorify you in the midst of it?"

With this perspective, we change our "Why God, Why" to "Teach me, Lead me, Guide me." In this way, we turn an often helpless feeling situation into a productive situation in which we allow God to shape us, encourage us, create in us and shine through us.

No matter the situation, God promises to never leave you or forsake you. He is with you and just asks you to trust Him. He loves you.

We read in Jeremiah 29:11,
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

With this promise from God, we can confidently shift our why perspective into a productive perspective knowing that God only has good plans for each one of us.
