Who attacked Lebanon?

The current conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, started following the 7th October attacks by Hamas on Israel.
Hezbollah beginning to launch rockets into Israel in solidarity with Hamas on the 8th of October. This led to a year-long conflict marked by cross-border attacks, with Israel targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and leadership, significantly weakening the group. Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was killed during this period.

Ceasefire Agreements:

A ceasefire agreement was brokered by the United States and France, effective from November 27, 2024. Under the terms, Hezbollah must withdraw its fighters north of the Litani River, while Israeli forces are to gradually withdraw from southern Lebanon. The agreement includes the deployment of 5,000 Lebanese alongside a five-country monitoring panel led by the U.S. Israel retains the right to self-defense if threatened.

The ceasefire was intended to allow displaced people from both sides to return home safely.

Who Broke the Ceasefire Deal?

Israel has been reported to have conducted airstrikes in Lebanon.
Hezbollah, on its part, has been accused by Israel of moving troops south of the river and firing at IDF troops.

With each side claiming the right to defend against perceived breaches; things get more complicated now that Assad has left Syria and Israel took out of his missile supplies while they had the chance.

The best we can do is pray for peace and hope that Israel finally wins its war against terrorism.

Erin go bragh. Am Yisrael chai.
