Worlds Apart | Conniving to convince? – Greg Simons
3 months ago
4.8K
In politics, they say, perception is reality. This mantra owes its origin to Lee Atwater, a political consultant and strategist for several American presidents. In 1991, at the age of 40, he died of brain cancer but his approach to political communication based on a cynical mining of emotional wedge issues lives on to this day. What are the social costs of such manipulation and what can possibly introduce reality back into international politics? To discuss this, Oksana is joined by Greg Simons, an Associate Professor at Turiba University in Latvia.
