#Homework Part 9: The Finale Finally | Chainsaw Coffee Table Build Complete

After months of learning, experimenting, and hard work, we’ve reached the thrilling conclusion of the Ohio Coffee Table Build! What started as an oak tree and an idea has become a handcrafted, zero-fastener coffee table built entirely with mortise and tenon joints, glue, and a whole lot of grit.

In this final installment, Ethan and Eric put the finishing touches on the table—planing, sanding, clear-coating, and assembling every piece with precision. Along the way, we tested new tools, tackled challenging cuts, and even discovered some unexpected parallels between woodworking and flying airplanes (spoiler alert: P-Factor isn’t just for takeoffs!).

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬:
🔹 𝘾𝙧𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙨𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥: See how mortise and tenon joints create lasting stability without any screws or nails.
🔹 𝙏𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙮: Watch Ethan master essential tools like the planer, biscuit joiner, and even the mighty chainsaw.
🔹 𝙇𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙙: Discover how creative problem-solving turned a rough oak slab into a stunning table.

This project taught us that even complex builds are achievable when you’re willing to learn, adapt, and keep pushing forward.
