"You're going nowhere... I'm telling you how this goes." Netflix has unveiled the full official trailer for an X-mas thriller called Carry-On, landing to watch in December on Netflix soon. It's a new action thriller from Jaume Collet-Serra (of Orphan, Unknown, Non-Stop, The Commuter, Jungle Cruise, Black Adam), who is giving us a present of a cat and mouse thriller with some cheesy direct-to-video vibes. The setup: A young TSA agent fights to outsmart a mysterious traveler who blackmails him into letting a dangerous package slip onto a Christmas Eve flight. Who is he and can he actually stop him? The impressive ensemble cast features Taron Egerton as the main TSA agent, Jason Bateman, Sofia Carson, Danielle Deadwyler, Logan Marshall-Green, Dean Norris, Sinqua Walls, and Jason Bateman. This is finally looking like a legit thriller - reminding me of Die Hard with a Vengeance with as many twists & turns in it. Have a look below.
Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Jaume Collet-Serra's Carry-On, direct from Netflix's YouTube:

“Thrilled to star alongside Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman in our film Carry-On directed by the legendary Jaume Collet Sara,” Sofia wrote on Instagram following the casting news in September 2022. “Thank you Steven Spielberg, Holly Bario, Leslee Feldman and my @amblin family. Is Sofia Carson Single? The ‘Purple Hearts’ Actress Keeps Her Love Life Out of the Public Eye
“Getting into this project, I was terrified, and I had never felt that scared before,” the actor and singer-songwriter told Netflix Tudum in September 2022 on Purple Hearts. “I was paralyzed by fear. I literally parked outside the studio just sobbing and shaking.”
She added, “I had never been involved with a project from start to finish. So I learned an enormous amount about the entire process.”
“I still can’t believe nor can I wrap my head around the fact that Liz Allen, Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton — who are our producers — trusted me to do this,” Sofia explained. “And from the very beginning, I told them that I wanted to be involved with the soundtrack and they were like, ‘Absolutely!’”

If you consider "Die Hard" a Christmas movie, it's probably because you enjoy holiday films packed with action and suspense. If that's the case, you'll want to keep an eye on the new Netflix thriller "Carry-On," which takes the chaos of Christmas travel to a whole new level of tension and anxiety.
Check out the official full-length trailer for "Carry-On," a new Christmas-set thriller starring Taron Egerton, of "Rocketman" and "Kingsman" fame, as TSA agent Ethan Kopek. While working airport security during one of the busiest and most stressful times of the year, Ethan receives a chilling phone call from a mysterious stranger who claims to have kidnapped his girlfriend. The caller demands that Ethan allow "one bag" to pass through airport security in order to make it onto a Christmas Day flight set to take off in a few hours. With the clock ticking, Ethan has only a few hours to make a decision and carry out the task -- or else never see his girlfriend alive again. What will he do ... what would you do if you were in the same position?
Jason Bateman, from Netflix's "Ozark," provides the voice of the mysterious caller making the demands, while singer-actress Sofia Carson ("Purple Hearts," "Descendants") plays Ethan's girlfriend, who is soon to be in great peril.
The cast also includes Danielle Deadwyler ("Till"), Theo Rossi ("The Penguin"), Dean Norris ("Breaking Bad"), and Logan Marshall Green ("Upgrade").
"Carry-On" is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, best known for hit thrillers like "The Shallows," "Non-Stop," "Unknown," and "Orphan," as well as the DC superhero film "Black Adam."
The film will premiere on Netflix on December 13th, just in time to add some holiday thrills to your Christmas season, while also serving as a reminder to perhaps avoid the airport entirely during your holiday travel plans.

What’s the production status of Carry-On?
Netflix’s Carry-On was initially set to begin filming in the US on September 26, 2022, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Cleveland, Ohio. Production was tentatively set to wrap on December 16, 2022, according to Production Weekly issue 1309.
However, it wasn’t until October 18th that social posts began surfacing that production had started. Taron Egerton posted on October 18th, “First day of school!” Thanks to the excellent Instagram account Carry On updates on Instagram, they managed to find numerous pictures from the set and from various actors throughout the production. Here are a few of the best snaps:

Writer T. J. Fixman provided an update via Instagram on November 16th, 2022, saying:
“Today I talked to a character I invented, stood by the gate of an airline I made up, and witnessed a crime I planned in my head almost ten years ago. Today I walked through my imagination, and it was pretty cool.”
Production continued throughout the New Year, with Gentilly Messenger reporting that filming occurred in New Orleans in early January 2023.
What’s the Netflix release date for Carry-On?
The movie first received a release date window nod from Netflix when it unveiled its upcoming slate of action movies and series in May 2023, but it ultimately didn’t release in 2023. Instead, as part of the Next on Netflix slate reveal in February 2024, Netflix confirmed the movie would be released at some point, finally confirming the release date as August 28th.
Carry-On will be released on Netflix globally on Friday, December 13th, 2024. The movie features a runtime of 1 hour and 59 minutes and is rated PG-13.
