The date is November 13, 2024; we are in the C.D. “Buzz” Besadny Wildlife Area South of Casco, Wisconsin, in Kewaunee County. In this video are Dean Ehlers, myself, Dean’s dog Brittany spaniel named Emmy, and my dachshund Ollie. It’s a windy day so there is some wind noise in this video, and the camera footage is a little low but the action was terrific, the second bird was missed as it was too far for my modified choke, it was funny to me as the bird flew up in front of us and I said bird and Dean said where. This was the first bird ever harvested with my dog Ollie; it was a terrific moment for us both. We went for breakfast afterwards and the rooster was still alive in the Wal-Mart bag, as we drove back to Dean’s house between Casco and Algoma Ollie began barking and wouldn’t stop I said to Dean either Ollie is sick of being in the kennel, as he is almost never in a kennel, but I doubted that, I believed the rooster was loose in the back of Dean’s truck, lol. WE got back to Dean’s about twenty minutes later, checked out the back and could see the rooster was walking around in the back of his truck. I had Dean open the cap door just enough so I could reach in and release Ollie’s kennel door, Ollie cornered and finished off the rooster.
