#Homework Part 8 - Zero Fasteners, All Precision: Topping the Table

We know, we know—you’ve been on the edge of your seats wondering what happened to that oak coffee table we started. Well, the wait is getting closer to over! After keeping you in suspense (totally on purpose... definitely not because we were knee-deep in sawdust and bad local legislation), we’re back with the next stage of our Chainsawga woodworking journey.

In this installment, we turn rough-sawn oak slabs into a polished centerpiece with some good old-fashioned craftsmanship and a few modern tools. From planing uneven boards to carving precise mortise-and-tenon joints with a plunge router, every detail counts when creating a table built to last.

There’s also plenty of sawdust, real-time problem-solving, and even a little aviation theory (is router “pull” basically woodworking’s version of P-factor? Drop your thoughts in the comments!).

🛠️ Tackling woodworking challenges with patience and precision
🔨 Real-life DIY lessons from a hands-on project

We’re excited to finally share this progress update, even if it took a little longer than expected. Next up: adding the bottom shelf and finishing the entire piece with a clear coat. This table has been a true labor of love!
