Why Jews & Greeks Worshipped Jesus

The resurrection of Jesus is undeniable proof of His divinity, and within a mere 20 years after His ascension, we see a world transformed by this truth. Paul, once a zealous persecutor of Christians, writes to the Greeks and Gentiles, urging them to gather in the name of Jesus Christ, a practice so radical it echoes the Old Testament's call to worship Yahweh alone. This shift is monumental because Jews, deeply rooted in their monotheistic tradition, would not dare to worship another beside Yahweh unless they were convinced beyond doubt that Jesus was indeed divine.

These Jews, who would die for their faith, did exactly that for Jesus, illustrating their conviction that He was the Messiah foretold in their scriptures. The Greeks, on the other hand, with their pantheon of gods, abandoned their deities for Jesus, a Jew from a despised, crucified race. Why would they do this if not for the overwhelming evidence of His resurrection?

Acts 4:12 - "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." - Here, Peter proclaims Jesus as the sole source of salvation, a testimony to His unique divinity.

The very act of these Greeks turning away from their gods to worship Jesus signifies the undeniable truth of His resurrection - the only explanation for such a seismic shift in belief. The early Christians, including Paul, Peter, and John, faced persecution, martyrdom, yet stood firm in their faith, not for a myth, but for a living, breathing Savior they had seen with their own eyes.

Philippians 2:9-11 - "Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." - Paul explains the exaltation of Jesus, acknowledging His lordship over all creation, which was only possible through His resurrection.
