The lone shooter responsible for killing at least three people and wounding several others during a Thursday morning assault on a Maryland distribution center died at the hospital after she shot herself in the head, police said.

The suspect was identified as Snochia Moseley of Baltimore County, the Harford Sheriff announced on Twitter.

In total, four people were killed in the shooting at the Rite Aid distribution center in Aberdeen, including the 26-year-old suspect, Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said at a news conference.

Three others who were also shot are expected to survive, he said.

The suspect appeared to be "armed with one handgun and several magazines," Gahler said, adding that the weapon was owned and registered to her.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Five people were shot, including one child, on Midland Avenue in Syracuse Thursday night. All are in stable condition and are expected to survive at this point.

Police say a 35-year-old man was shot in the torso, arm and leg area, a 35-year-old woman was shot in the abdomen, another 35-year-old woman was shot in the hand, a 29-year-old man was shot in the chest and an 8-year-old girl was shot in the hip.

People at the scene of the shooting say that family was gathered for a celebration of life when the gunshots started. They say a family member died of pancreatic cancer Thursday and family was gathering in remembrance. The Syracuse police chief says that he believes that to be true, from the initial investigation.

A homeowner at a home on Midland Avenue said about 20 to 30 people were in her driveway when three "boys," who she claims were dressed in black hooded sweatshirts, were seen across the street and opened fire.

Police also say that at 9:53 p.m. a teenage girl was shot in the lower back on Furman Street, blocks away from the mass shooting.

They say they are still investigating whether the two shootings were connected, but the girl's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
