Canada launches new Arctic foreign policy – December 6, 2024

In Ottawa, Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly announces the launch of the federal government’s new Arctic foreign policy.
She is joined by ministers Bill Blair (defence) and Dan Vandal (northern affairs), premiers R.J. Simpson (Northwest Territories), Ranj Pillai (Yukon) and P.J. Akeeagok (Nunavut), as well as Natan Obed (president of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami) and Kluane Adamek (Assembly of First Nations’s regional chief for Yukon).
