Will I lose more weight & get fit faster if I do strength fitness classes/lift weights everyday?

I see many women at the gym who are lifting weights daily either by working out on the weight room floor or attending a strength training class. Will strength training give me the fastest results? Will I lose more weight if I lift weights everyday?

NOTE: In this video I stated for each additional pound of muscle added to the body, you will burn five additional calories a day. OOPS! Please excuse my faux pas. For each additional pound of muscle you acquire you will burn an additional 50 calories each day. (Of course this number is based on the average person and we all know you are above average.)
