Sam Boyd Stadium Las Vegas Drone Video

Demolition has been approved for this historic Las Vegas landmark but its future remains uncertain. Sam Boyd Stadium, the heart of UNLV football from 1971 - 2019 is now awaiting its fate. The UNLV Board of Regents, on wednesday, approved its transfer back to Clark County for 5 million dollars due to it's aging infrastructure and high maintenance costs.

Captured from above on an FAA temporary flight authorization, this drone footage reveals the sprawling, empty stadium with a 40,000 person capacity. It's a bright reminder of Vegas’s past beyond the bright lights of the Strip. This could be the end or a new beginning for this site.
