In this discussion between Cherie Sheridan and Dr. Daniel Bobinski on the Heal the Broken Hearted podcast, the concept of soul ties emerges as a powerful force in the spiritual realm. Cherie is a seer and minister who helps people remove spiritual hinderances. She explains that soul ties are attachments in our mind, will, soul, emotions, and intellect which can be linked to people, places, things, songs, or events.

Cherie says soul ties can be both positive and negative, and that negative ties can hinder personal growth and emotional well-being, as well as our relationships themselves. She likens soul ties to straws, through which both good and bad elements can pass.

Soul Ties in Relationships
Strong soul ties occur in sexual relationships, because parts of each person transfers to the sexual partner. This is healthy in marriages, because in God’s kingdom, the two are one flesh. However, with sex outside of marriage, soul ties carry spiritual and emotional baggage because the parts from previous partners enter into all future sexual partners. These spiritual exchanges create what Cherie describes as "spiritual VD".

Cherie says breaking ungodly soul ties from past sexual partners is crucial for several reasons, especially if a person has had an extramarital affair. Using a puzzle analogy, Cherie says, "If you have five different puzzles, a piece to each of those puzzles are mixed up with the other puzzles, so you can never put your own puzzle completely together.” Breaking soul ties allows individuals to reclaim their spiritual "puzzle pieces."

Cherie offers a simple yet powerful prayer to break soul ties with a past sexual partner. A person can simply say,

"Father God, I repent of this relationship and I break all soul ties with [name]. I command my parts to come back to me and I send their parts back to them. I shut any door that was opened between us and I seal it with the blood of Jesus."

In addition to the conscious decision to sever unhealthy spiritual connections, this process also involves repentance, asking for forgiveness from God and also forgiving oneself.

Soul Ties in Family Relationships
Both positive and negative soul ties occur in family relationships, with negative soul ties commonly created in cases such as abuse or negative emotional experiences. Unresolved conflicts between spouses or between parents and their children—or even extended family members—can also create unhealthy soul ties that harm relationships.

It’s important to break ungodly soul ties. Unbroken soul ties and anger in relationships can allow bitterness to take root. In cases of infidelity, breaking soul ties is essential for spiritual cleansing and healing within the marriage. Additionally, releasing soul ties can lead to feeling purer and lighter and experiencing a greater sense of freedom.

Breaking Ungodly Soul Ties with Family and Acquaintances
When dealing with family members and acquaintances, breaking ungodly soul ties requires a nuanced approach. Unlike severing ties with past romantic partners, the goal is to maintain healthy relationships while removing negative spiritual connections. This process involves forgiveness, self-reflection, and targeted prayer.

For family members, ungodly soul ties could be situations like verbal abuse, emotional manipulation, or traumatic experiences. The prayer to break these ties might sound like this:

"Father God, I forgive [family member's name]. I break all ungodly soul ties with [name]. I seal this with the blood of Jesus."

With acquaintances, ungodly soul ties can form through negative influences, toxic friendships, or shared destructive habits. Breaking these ties often involves distancing oneself physically and emotionally while praying for release. It's important to recognize that some relationships may need to end completely for spiritual health. Similar prayers can be prayed as those for family members.

Breaking Soul Ties with Pets
Soul ties with pets are often overlooked but can be significant, especially when grieving a beloved animal companion. While these bonds are usually positive, the ties can sometimes hinder emotional healing after a pet's passing. To address this, one might pray as follows:

"Lord, I thank you for the joy that [pet's name] brought into my life. I release any grief or attachment that's holding me back and ask for your comfort. I break any unhealthy soul ties and ask for your peace to fill the void."
Breaking Ties with Properties
We can also have soul ties to properties, which can be positive or negative. If one needs to move but loves the house, a soul tie can hinder one’s ability to move on. However, a negative soul tie can exist if traumatic events occurred on the property. To break these ties, one might simply pray the following:
"Father, I break all soul ties with [specific property]. I seal this with the blood of Jesus."

Soul Ties from Events
Significant events, both positive and negative, can create lasting soul ties. Negative soul ties could appear because of accidents, natural disasters, or even highly emotional negative experiences. To break ties from traumatic events, one might pray this prayer:

"Lord, I break all soul ties associated with [specific event]. I release the trauma and fear connected to this experience. I close any spiritual doors opened by this event and seal them with your blood."

For positive events that have created unhealthy attachments, the prayer might be:

"Father, I thank you for the blessings of [specific event]. I release any unhealthy attachments or expectations stemming from this experience. I break any soul ties that are holding me back from moving forward in your will. I ask for your guidance in cherishing the memory without being bound by it."

Bottom line, breaking soul ties is a vital step towards spiritual and emotional healing. It allows individuals to reclaim their identity, foster healthier relationships, and align more closely with their faith. Cherie says this practice can lead to a profound sense of freedom and wholeness, which is essential for anyone seeking to deepen their relationship with God and improve their overall well-being.
