Ambassadors of Reconciliation: ( 2 Corinthians 5:11-7:1)
Good morning everyone!
Ambassadors of Reconciliation: Living Out the Ministry of the New Covenant (2 Corinthians 5:11-7:1)
Exploring Second Corinthians and Apostolic Vision
Jared Wesley Campbell led a discussion on Second Corinthians, focusing on the Catholic motivation, fearing and loving God, the apostolic vision, the new creation, the apostolic ministry, reconciliation, the marks of the apostleship, and a plea for holiness. He emphasized the importance of seeking God's guidance and understanding in their lives. The conversation ended with a prayer and a reading from Second Corinthians, chapter 5, verses 11 to 17.
Persuasion Through Love and Fear
Jared discussed the concept of persuasion in the context of the love of Christ and the fear of God. He emphasized that persuasion is about convincing others and being well-known to God and in one's conscience. He highlighted two fronts of persuasion: the terror of the Lord, which is the possibility of judgment to eternal death, and the divine invitation to live for Christ, which is the love of Christ. He also discussed the transformation of old bodies into new creations through Christ and the ministry of reconciliation God gave us through Jesus Christ. Jared emphasized that salvation is not just forgiveness of sins but a new life and reconciliation with God and that we become participants in the very righteousness of God through Christ.
Sacrificial Love and Separation From Unbelievers
Jared discussed the concept of sacrificial love and the importance of being holy. He emphasized the need for believers to come out from among unbelievers and be separate, as stated in the Bible. He also highlighted the importance of not being unequally yoked with unbelievers and the need for believers to cleanse themselves from all the filthiness of the flesh and spirit. Jared also mentioned that he would continue reading 2 Corinthians on Friday if there was no correspondence with Ricky about the war in Ukraine. He ended the conversation with a prayer and a blessing for all present.
In Christ, love ❤️ Jared W Campbell
