Paul described in 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12 the “Ideal Model” for men committed to being spiritual models for their families and churches. He challenged the believers of Thessalonica to “Weigh what they Knew against what they Heard.” (1 Thess. 2:1-6) The apostle then illustrated his role as a preacher with two models: A Loving Mother and a Protective Father. Paul’s life was a balance of a mother’s tenderness and a father’s strength.
