France News Today | French Govt Loses No Confidence Vote | France No Confidence Vote | N18G

A no-confidence motion to overthrow the government and remove Prime Minister Michel Barnier sent France into a deep political crisis. The right-wing prime minister's minority administration was overthrown in three months when a coalition of left-wing parties, backed by members of Marine Le Pen's far-right, anti-immigration National Rally, moved a no-confidence resolution.
During the Wednesday voting, 331 legislators voted in favor of overthrowing the administration, demonstrating a resounding majority. Barnier will step down as French prime minister on Thursday as a result of this. The PM said that if his administration is overthrown, France will be "plunged into the unknown" ahead of the vote on Wednesday.
