The Ukraine Troops Fighting For Israel That You Know Nothing About.
Right, so if you’ve been watching the news regarding the war between Russia and Ukraine and also the atrocities Israel has been meting out against Gaza, you might well be on the side of who you ostensibly see as the good guys in these conflicts. The side of the perceived victims, namely Ukraine and Palestine. Now this might be a reflection a litmus test if you like regarding where you get your news from. Someone who only watches the BBC might well be supportive of Ukraine, but could actually be supporting of Israel, though polling indicates this is certainly a minority of cases in the UK, more and more people regardless of their news intake, seem to have come to the position that actually the Palestinians are the victims here as Israel constantly wail they are the ones being oppressed, even as they raze another mosque or school in Gaza or Southern Lebanon.
Well the situation in Syria might require you to re-evaluate all of this again, because right now there are Israel and Turkish backed former Al-Qaeda rebel groups attacking the Syrian government, the latest increase in conflict in Syria’s ongoing civil war, but where the government in Syria is now being aided by Russia, the terrorist groups backed by Israel are being aided in turn, by Ukraine.
Right, so what the heck is going on here Damo, Ukraine is on the die of Israel and Russia is on the side of those who are against Israel as I’ve broadly implied in my intro and yeah, that is pretty much it. The war between Russia and Ukraine has been framed very much as a good guy vs bad guy thing, Putin always bad and Zelensky clearly the victim, but it has never, ever been that black and white. For all the justifiable claims made against Vladimir Putin and the land grabs, many of the people in the land grabbed, would rather be administrated by Russia. Ukraine seeking NATO membership, NATO expansionism seen by Russia as a threat when NATO promised back in the 1990’s that it wouldn’t happen and yet had. Ukraine having literal nazis in their ranks in the form of the infamous Azov Battalion and not forgetting the fact Ukraine was the victim of a US backed coup which has made that government a puppet proxy for US interests in Eastern Europe, much as can be said about Israel in the Middle east. Western driven messes in both cases.
But now take that knowledge and that very grey ethical and moral picture of both Ukraine’s and Russia’s governments and drop in Syria and the situation going on there now.
As we know, Syria has had a significant co-ordinated attack mounted on it, by Turkish and Israel backed rebel groups, the remnants of the Al-Qaeda terrorist organisation in Syria at that, led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, or HTS. They’ve had significant success in a short space of time, seizing territory in the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib and pushing Syrian forces back.
Now Syria again, is led by a government broadly that isn’t much to think highly of. Bashar Al-Assad is not a great guy at all, Syria is broadly run as a dictatorship, a police state, it was his clampdown on free speech and freedom of expression that tipped the country over into civil war in 2011, and that has not ended, and here we are, with his administration under attack by terrorists and you could be left thinking, well, bad on both sides, is there a right side to take here? And to that I think well, you don’t always have to necessarily take a side, but if you do, do what I do and side with the innocent people caught up in the conflict. Nobody in their right minds should side with anything borne out of Al-Qaeda you’d imagine, yet Turkey and Israel both back these rebels and Russia back Assad against those rebels.
Now Russia has it’s assets in Syria too as one reason to get involved, especially at a time when Ukraine is their main preoccupation, but a Russian military base in Aleppo has already been attacked, but also whatever you think of Syria and it’s leadership, they are allies of Iran, they are part of the so-called Axis of Resistance, along with the Houthis, Islamic Resistance, Hezbollah, Hamas and others and you don’t necessarily believe the sun shines out of the backsides of all of this lot either, but when I look at all of these groups and I see the most black and white conflict of them all, which is the genocide by Israel on Gaza, a war on women and children as that mostly is and as I said before, it is the side of those caught up in conflict I side with and so Israel also backing attacks in another country, I can’t put myself on the side of that, the side of Netanyahu and Erdogan, and Al-Qaeda cast offs, but do you know who has and who is? Ukraine.
Yes, Ukraine, are supporting that it seems. Here’s an excerpt from Lebanese news outlet Al Mayadeen who have covered this:
‘Multiple sources have confirmed direct Ukrainian involvement with Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (formerly known as al-Nusra Front), a group classified as a terrorist organization, in ongoing battles against the Syrian army across the fronts of Aleppo, Hama, and Idlib.
Photos circulating on social media show Ukrainian fighters on the frontlines in Aleppo and Hama, with some images depicting military operations and reconnaissance missions.
Preliminary reports indicate that the Ukrainian units operating in Syria are part of the White Wolf group, which is affiliated with Ukraine's Security Service (SBU). This specialized unit is known for its expertise in developing and deploying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), playing a key role in striking Russian forces with drones on the Ukrainian front.
The unit reportedly controls the full range of drone weapons systems.
In a related development, sources revealed to Al Mayadeen that a deal was struck before the assault on Aleppo between Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham and Ukrainian intelligence. The agreement reportedly led to the release of mercenaries—of Georgian, Chechen, and Albanian descent—from al-Jolani's prisons, who were subsequently integrated into the Ukrainian unit stationed in northwestern Syria.
Yesterday, a Syrian source familiar with the matter said, as quoted by Russian news agency RIA Novosti, that "the attacks by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham militants on Aleppo in northern Syria were conducted with the involvement of Ukraine and the United States, utilizing advanced technologies."
The source emphasized that "this marks the first time Syrian army communications have been subjected to significant interference."
Ukrainian weaponry had previously surfaced in the attack, with footage emerging showing HTS deploying an advanced attack drone to target a Syrian army position west of Aleppo. The videos, widely circulated on social media, also featured the use of sophisticated drones equipped with bombs and high-resolution cameras to strike Syrian military positions and vehicles.’
Hi tech drones which HTS have no training in the use of, advanced tech which might account for how such a disparate terrorist remnant has gained so much ground, all achieved thanks to a deal Ukraine did with these groups, primarily HTS, to get their captive people released from HTS detention.
Now you might be looking at this and seeing the source as Lebanese and having an inbuilt bias, or the fact a Russian news outlet was quoted to rubbish this and you might have your doubts therefore, but I would then point you to another outlet, with an article on this with the headline reading ‘Ukrainian Trained, Turkish Sponsored Syrian Rebels Lead Assault on Aleppo’ and inform you that that headline comes from an article published on the 1st December by the Kyiv Post – a Ukrainian paper. Even their own press are pointing out Ukraine’s role in fighting Syria, though they push a narrative as you might expect of taking on Russia on another front.
But this isn’t Ukraine vs Russia, this is Ukraine lending their tech knowhow and support and military personnel, to back an Israel as well as Turkish backed group of former Al-Qaeda terrorists.
I’m minded to think of Keir Starmer, our British PM, pledging £3bn a year to Ukraine for as long as it takes in their fight against Russia and now wonder whether any of that cash has been used for the White Wolves in Syria in their backing of HTS and other terrorist groups? Have we paid for their training? Seems a reasonable question to ask of your MP.
I don’t suppose Starmer would feel particularly bad about it, it helps Israel still after all and after the sickening lovefest for Israel he has just engaged in, enough to turn your stomach, there can be no doubt where his loyalties lies as much as they disgust sensible right thinking members of the British populace, as this video recommendation will explain to you all about as your suggested next watch if so inclined. Sick bucket at the ready. Please do support the channel by hitting like, share and subscribe before you watch that though if you haven’t done so already, it is much appreciated and I’ll hopefully catch you on the next vid.
