House Arrest at Tsarskoe Selo (1917)

The #Romanov #ImperialFamily, aides-de-camps of #TsarNicholasII and ladies-in-waiting to #EmpressAlexandra were placed under house arrest at #Tsarskoeselo in February 1917. As the #BolshevikRevolution raged around them, the #Romanovs fell ill with #measles . The tsar asked for his family to join them at #Mogilev , which may have provided means for escape. But it was not to be, as recorded by #AnnaVyrubova , arguably one of #TsarinaAlexandra 's closest friends. This is #Vyrubova 's account.
