Relax and Paint with Me: Abstract Portrait of Roberto De La Cruz

In today's video, I’m painting a portrait titled “Roberto De La Cruz.” This piece explores the human face, starting with an underpainting to get the colors flowing and develop the structure organically. I didn’t have a face in mind when I began, but as the colors blended and shapes emerged, the idea of this abstract portrait came to life.
Throughout the process, I measure proportions with my hand, breaking down the face into its basic structure: the eyes at the horizontal middle, the nose along the vertical centerline, and the mouth placed halfway between the chin and the eyes. These simple guidelines allow me to bring out the features with a calm yet expressive energy.
The background music complements the painting process with abstract, serene tones, creating a relaxing and meditative experience for the viewer.
