Faced with continual raids by the Pardee gang, California rancher Murdoch Lancer seeks the help of his estranged sons: dapper Bostonian Scott Lancer and border-town gunslinger Johnny Madrid.
September 24, 1968: The High Riders, A.K.A. 'The Homecoming', is the first episode of the first season of Lancer. It first aired on September 24, 1968. There are two versions of the episode in circulation. One is colorized, just like the rest of the series, and the other is in black and white. The latter contains some additional scenes.

Lancer is an American Western television series that aired Tuesdays at 7:30 pm on CBS from September 24, 1968, to June 23, 1970. The series stars Andrew Duggan as a father with two half-brother sons, played by James Stacy and Wayne Maunder.
The pilot episode, "The High Riders", was mostly filmed on location in and around the hacienda now located within the Santa Lucia Preserve. All interior shots of the hacienda in subsequent episodes were filmed on a sound stage in Hollywood, recreated from photographs of the original.
