THE NERVOUS CHRISTIAN SHOULD NOT EXIST

We live in the far corner of the northwest United States. Directly above us is the Canadian Providence of British Columbia. It has been one of our favorite getaways for years, and one special target is the swinging bridge.
Some years ago, they put cables across a deep Canyon and made a walkway on which people could travel back and forth. Now it's a tourist attraction.
I have been across it several times in these past years, and each time I do, I grab a hold of the edge of the cable and, with white knuckles, gingerly creep across the canyon.
I'm what's known as a nervous tourist.
In the illustration above, we're looking for security and confidence that what we're walking on will not fall or fail. 
According to the gospel given to us through the scriptures and our relationship with the Father, there should be no nervous Christians on this walk we're on.
We are promised eternal life that will never be taken away from us.
We are promised that God will never leave us or forsake us.
The Father in heaven has assured us that he would love us forever because of his son, Jesus Christ, who gave his life to redeem us.
Our sins are buried and forgiven, never to be remembered against us anymore.
The door to heaven and the presence of the Lord has been permanently opened because Jesus is that door, and he has invited us to fellowship with him.
The Scriptures tell us no evil will overtake us because we dwell in that secret place of the most high.
Need I go on?
According to these declarations above, no nervous Christians should exist.
Take courage, my friends. When I look at you, I see Jesus Christ himself.
