When the Narcissist Faces What They've Done to You

When you were with the narcissist, they had it easy, they had someone who was always there for them whenever they needed them. They had your time, energy, and resources in their back pocket, whenever they needed them, but now that they have to move on it's not so easy for them anymore. Them being deprived of your convenience is surprising and shocking for them. When the narcissist was with you they were never grateful, they never appreciated anything that you did for them, they took you for granted, they assumed you would always be there for them, they assumed you would always give them whatever they need regardless of how they treated you and they assumed that anyone else would be willing to give them the same if not more but when they move on from you is when reality sinks in.

Narcissists are masters of manipulation, masters of deception and they will always give you a mistaken impression, they will always deliberately cause you to believe something that is not true for their own personal gain. All they know is lie. Just as they did when you first met them. They displayed a False character and a false reality to you and that's exactly what they're doing to you again when they portray this ideal situation of them with a new source. It's an orchestration... they have planned and coordinated the elements of the situation to produce their desired effect. Everything they do is calculated.

The reality is they are struggling to a detrimental degree and most of them are having extreme difficulty handling or coping with their lives. When it's time to review what happened, they'll realize they had it easy with you, everything was taken care of, they didn't have to worry about anything, and they didn't have to handle any problems. You probably worked full-time, cooked, cleaned, and took care of them and the kids while they laid around and played the victim and made excuses for their unproductive existence. You were probably their source of security and stability, you sustained them, strengthened and supported them physically and mentally, and poured into their love and compassion but now all of that is gone & many of them find themselves in an extremely difficult situation, their under extreme amounts of stress constantly, they're suffering from crippling manic depression.

Now they're waking up first thing in the morning for a job they hate, and they're doing things they never thought they'd be doing just to make a living, just to make ends meet, the grass always looks so much greener on the other side to them when they're with you, but when they leave reality sinks in hard, they begin to realize life isn't easy after all and those demons begin to punish them for losing you. That you were putting in blood sweat tears making all the sacrifices a person could possibly make for another person, for their undeserving ass and they begin to realize that things were so much better with you. Not that they love you, no they can... that you were the most convenient thing that they could have ever asked for.

Things were so much better & they're always going to idealize that time they had with you and compare any future miserable supplies they encounter to you and that's when the hovering comes along when they try to come back to you. OR sometimes they won't even come back because they don't want you to see them in that pitiful condition they've been going through so much since they left you. Things that you can't even imagine, and it's had a massive effect on their mental and physical health. They lost whatever light they had after you were gone and whenever you see them again, they'll look completely different. Because they're just an amalgamation of whoever they're leaching off of at the time. And a lot of the time their new supply is not ideal, and they don't thrive the way they did when they were with you. They don't have that glow anymore. They lost that forever. And they're never going to forget the way that felt.
