3. Decisiveness
Leaders must be able to make timely and informed decisions, even in the face of uncertainty or adversity. Decisiveness conveys confidence and provides the direction needed to keep a team focused and moving forward. It also helps the leader to take ownership of issues if they find a snag in the project outcome along the way.
Monitoring and Tweaking are tools to help you correct any bad decisions you see and give you enough time to handle them correctly without too much loss in the life of the journey.
For example, overspending due to an unexpected incident can put a dent in the timeline of your project. Another example someone on the team with a vital role to play gets sick and can’t complete the task given beforehand.
• Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV): "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
o Decisiveness comes from relying on God’s wisdom for direction.
• Joshua 24:15 (NIV): "But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve... But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."
o Leaders must make firm decisions and commit to them confidently.
