2 people shot in Lawrence; officer injured while apprehending suspect

Two people were injured in a shooting, and an officer hurt while trying to apprehend the suspect in Lawrence Monday night. Police said they were first called to a residence in the 700 block of West 25th Street just after 9:30 p.m. on a reported shooting. When officers got there, they found two victims with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Another LPD officer was driving in the area when they saw the suspect leaving in a green SUV. The officer tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the suspect drove the SUV into the officer’s vehicle, injuring them.
