Quality N20 2000 RPM DC Motor Makes Compass Magnet Motor Do 650 RPM!!!

The Compass Magnet Motor has surpassed expectations in this trial now that it has a 2000 RPM N20 DC motor. The motor is of a good quality unlike those on Amazon and was acquired through Turnabot.

The Compass Magnet Motor achieves a top speed of 1170 RPM as verified by counting 39 turns in a 2 second clip at 1/32 x slow motion. It can probably go a bit faster but this is satisfactory to illustrate that Earth's magnet is indeed very powerful. It's really a matter of how big the magnets are that interact with it.

In this case we have 8 N52 1 inch diameter by 1 inch neo magnets that the DC motor pushes against to rotate the rest of the armature.

We do mention near the end of the video that Earth's magnetic field protects life on Earth from the Solar Wind. We are also aware that magnets can be "turned on and off" by other magnets interacting with them. While this may suggest a type of evil scenario where a bad actor places powerful magnets such that everyone on a continent gets fried by the Solar Wind it also suggests a much more positive scenario where Earth's magnetic field is strengthened with powerful magnets to protect it from Solar Storms. Perhaps this would apply as well to spacecraft in the future.
