Mali: Army Kills High-Ranking Terrorists in Drone Strikes in the North | Firstpost Africa

Mali army has killed a leader and several members of a newly formed separatist rebel coalition operating in the volatile north of the country. The army said it had “neutralised” eight men, whom they described as “high-ranking terrorist operatives.” The drone strikes took place in the town of Tinzaouatine in the north of Mali, which has been under the control of a rebel coalition. The attack also came just a day after the armed groups announced that they would merge into a single political and military entity, known as the Azawad Liberation Front. Mali has been plunged into a crisis ever since the outbreak of independence and jihadist insurgencies in the north in 2012. The military junta has been extensively criticised for failing to resolve the conflict and effectively return to democratic rule in the country. Watch the video to know more.
