** Dive into the heart of Jesus' teaching with this blues rendition of the Parable of the Persistent Widow from Luke 18:1-8 (WEB). This song, Justice Gonna Come, captures the essence of relentless faith, persistent prayer, and God's unfailing justice.

This parable was spoken by Jesus to encourage His followers to always pray and never give up. The widow's story reveals the power of persistence and trust in God's promises. If an unrighteous judge can grant justice because of perseverance, how much more will our loving God respond to His children who cry out day and night?

This blues song reflects the depth of faith required in challenging times, reminding us to hold on, trust God, and believe that justice will come, even when it feels delayed.

** Original Text: Luke 18:1-8 (World English Bible)

1 He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up,
2 saying, "There was a judge in a certain city who didn't fear God and didn't respect man.
3 A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, 'Defend me from my adversary!'
4 He wouldn't for a while, but afterward he said to himself, 'Though I neither fear God nor respect man,
5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.'"

6 The Lord said, "Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
7 Won't God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"

** Lyrics to Justice Gonna Come Blues

(Verse 1)
There was a widow in the city, cryin' day and night,
Facin' a judge who didn't fear wrong or right.
She said, "Defend me, stand up for my name!"
But he kept on ignoring, like it was all just a game.

(Chorus)
Oh, justice gonna come, it won't be long,
God hears His chosen ones, their cry is strong.
Hold on, child, don't lose your faith,
Justice gonna come-just you wait.

(Verse 2)
That judge said, "I don't fear God, I don't care for man,
But this woman keeps on pushin'; she's got a demand.
I'll grant her request, I've had enough,
Before she wears me down, I'll call her bluff."

(Chorus)
Oh, justice gonna come, it won't be long,
God hears His chosen ones, their cry is strong.
Hold on, child, don't lose your faith,
Justice gonna come-just you wait.

(Bridge)
The Lord said, "Listen, to the judge who's unkind,
If even he can give justice, imagine what you'll find.
When God hears His people cry, both night and day,
Won't He act quickly, won't He make a way?"

(Verse 3)
He will avenge them; He won't delay,
But when the Son of Man comes, will there be faith that stays?
Keep on prayin', child, don't ever give up,
For justice flows from heaven-it overflows your cup.

(Outro)
Oh, justice gonna come, like the morning light,
God's love shines through, in the darkest night.
Keep knockin' on that door, don't you hesitate,
Justice gonna come-it's worth the wait.
