*Classical Shekerbura - Azerbaijani treat with crispy crust and tender filling Shekerbura is a traditional sweet that is more often bowed on holidays. Thin dough with nut and sugar filling, fragrant butter make this dessert a true embodiment of oriental sweetness. With a crunchy texture on the outside and a soft, melt-in-the-mouth inside, shekerbura is a delight at first bite.

Ingredients:
For the dough:
Flour - 500 g
Butter - 200 g (cold)
Sour cream - 100 g
Egg - 1 pc.
Milk - 100 ml
Salt - 1 pinch
For the filling:
Almonds or nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts) - 300 g (roasted and chopped)
Sugar - 300 g

Preparation:
Preparing the dough: In a deep bowl, combine the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt. Add the soft butter and vegetable oil and mix gently until crumbly.

Beat in the egg and start kneading the dough. If the dough is too hard, add a little water. Knead until smooth and homogeneous. The dough should be soft and elastic.

Shape the cookies: Divide the dough into small portions. Roll each portion into a small flatbread with a nut in the center (you can chop the nuts a little). Form the dough into a round or oval shape by folding over the edges.

Baking: Preheat the oven to 360 F . Whisk the second egg and brush it on top of the cookies. Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Bake for about 20-25 minutes, until the cookies are lightly browned.

Serving: The cookies should be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can serve either warm or cooled.
