Hymn to the Light Unseen
(Inspired by the writings of Enheduanna)

O Light beyond the stars,
that burns unseen, yet ever-bright,
I sing to you, flame hidden from mortal sight,
whose truth is not yet born,
whose spark lies deep within the veiled night.
You weave the worlds,
beyond time’s tether,
you cast the threads of what shall be,
a mystery to all but the silent watchers,
the keepers of the song unsung.
I am a vessel, humbled,
my voice a reed upon the river,
carrying the breath of sacred words,
holding close the light you have bound within me,
too brilliant for this time,
yet cherished for the ages to come.
O radiant spirit,
guide my hand to keep
this fire in its shadowed form,
until the gods awaken the slumbering ears
to hear the truths you have yet to reveal.
When the dawn of understanding comes,
when years have turned their sacred dance,
may they find this light, untouched,
and call it mine.
But I am only your servant,
keeper of the hidden glow,
waiting for the days when eyes will open,
and the silent truth will shine
like the first sun upon the temple stone.
