The Keys to the Future Lay Hidden in the Past

I absolutely love this comic book. I believe it so important for our people to know and learn about our pre-colonial greatness (not that we're not great now LOL!!) To really know who we are as individuals and as a people it is essential that we know our history before the Conquistadors. This comic is just a scratch on surface to our extremely rich and diverse cultural history and heritage. I also really love the art and how it doesn't look like your typical comic book... because it simply isn't. Obviously suitable for all ages... yet there is something to be said about how children can learn something about their culture early in life and be proud. I didn't have that in my childhood being a "Filipino" of the diaspora. I was raised to fit in. And here lies another reason I love this comic, as I learn about my culture of origin... I decolonize my mind. An adventure into my past via comic book was my beginning of a journey into really knowing my Roots and my Ancestors and my People. BIG THANKS TO THE CREATORS OF THE MAHARLIKAN CHRONICLES!!!
