KERMIS - 2 Flemish-Belgian Festival Posters - 1913, 1920, being Linen Backed at Posterfix Studio

These two posters were brought to us for linen backing. (KERMIS translates roughly to "Church Mass" and is tied to the parties and festivals of such holy days. Patronal festivals.) Both posters were multi-sheet posters as was common when printing big posters in the days before computers were used to make plates and printers could handle huge sheets.
The result is often that in 90% of multi-sheet posters, the sheets dont usually line up perfectly in registration, because the plates for each sheet were separate, and hand measured, and are always off by a fraction of an inch. This normal printing flaw becomes more obvious after linen backed, as both sheets are allowed to completely flatten out to their actual width. The poster from 1913 lined up perfectly well on the backing but the 1920 poster did not. I am not surprised. This flaw can be corrected with cosmetic retouching, as I often do to 3-sheet movie posters. The customer did not ask me to correct it.
