The Chilling Phone Call
-------------------------------------
Natalie sat on the couch, sipping her tea, when the news blared from the TV. Her heart stopped. Her sister, Heather, had been in a serious accident on Peek Rd. Panic hit her like a tidal wave. Just hours ago, Heather had been fine.

Her phone buzzed, and the screen lit up with a blocked number. She hesitated before answering. “Hello?”

“Natalie,” a low, icy voice whispered, “If you want to see your sister again, come to Peek Rd. Come alone. There’s a farmhouse. Solve the puzzle, or she dies.”

Her hands went cold. She hung up, trying to steady her breathing. Heather was in danger, and it was up to her to save her.

When Natalie arrived at the farmhouse, the door creaked open. The place was abandoned, the air thick with dust. A small table in the corner had a note on it. Find the key under one of the three haystacks. Two will kill you.

Her pulse quickened. She stepped toward the haystacks, hands shaking as she moved the first one. Empty. She pulled at the second. Nothing. The third… a cold metal key.

Relief flooded through her, but it was short-lived. As she stepped into the next room, a figure in the shadows laughed softly.

“You solved it, but your sister’s fine. You’re the real target now.”

Suddenly, the floor beneath her gave way. She tumbled, hitting the ground hard, and found herself in a moonlit cornfield.

Her phone buzzed again. Heather’s message flashed on the screen: “I’m fine, just a fender bender!”

The truth hit like a punch to the gut. It was all a sick game. And somehow, she’d made it out alive. But why? Was it all a dream?
