Welcome back to another to another Sunday deep dive.
Today we go to north Texas Ironroot Republic. This is a Harbinger barrel select from total wine back in 2022. This bottle was in my picks of best Texas whiskey period. So let’s get into it.

Let’s get into the bottle. This single barrel release is coming in at 121.8 proof and is holding nothing back.

On the nose it’s dream cicle (orange and vanilla). Coffee with a lot of cream and sugar. And fruit, like raisin and plum.

On the pallet the orange turns to key lime pie and the coffee turns to pipe tobacco and worn leather. And the proof prickles the tongue in all the right ways.

And on the finish if I didn’t know it was what it was I would think its sherry or port finished. It’s so fruity at the end. Plum and dark cherry and almost red wine Demi glaze. So dense and sticky. Making you want another sip. Don’t mind if I do.
