They say look we used to eat this stuff for free. But, this remembering the good old days had one major flaw. The people remembered eating, but it was hardly for free. The cost of that plenty had been slavery, and the contrast drawn by the people between the plenty they had under slavery and the nothing they said they now had under GOD, well they first blamed their leader Moses, moses who GOD put in that position of leadership.
Complaining people, yes Christians are included, usually replace their gratitude for what GOD has done for them with complaints about what they think is not doing for them at that moment. We must be careful, we can complain not for any one great reason, but because our hearts become dissatisfied.
PHIL 4:11-13, I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through HIM, Yeshua, Who gives me strength.
