PBS Gives DOGE Another Reason To Defund PBS And NPR

Posted • December 1, 2024: PBS and NPR always reassure us that only a tiny fraction of their budget comes from taxpayers. Then they scream bloody murder when a candidate promises to cut government funding, which suddenly they can't survive without. They need to make up their minds. Here's a segment on "rising hate" from PBS NewsHour. The guest is the SPLC's CEO, Margaret Huang, who talks about the hate speech from Donald Trump on the campaign trail. Note that the host just takes all this as fact and asks if there will be more or less tolerance for this kind of "hate speech" during Trump's second term. Huang said the election has emboldened all of the hate-filled Trump supporters, who see his win as encouragement to spew hateful rhetoric. 🚨 CALLING DOGE: Over a banner of “RISING HATE,” taxpayer-supported PBS teams up with radical-left SPLC CEO to demagogue and disparage Trump and his supporters:

"It’s really clear to us that hate and extremist groups are using the election of Donald Trump as an encouragement to cause fear and anxiety in communities of color and religious communities and in the LGBTQ community." - "He's essentially encouraged his followers to spew hateful rhetoric, and he's emboldened them to embrace this hateful ideology." -- This is insane, and it has to end. Not one dime of US taxpayer money should be used to fund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting — a leftwing propaganda outlet — currently receiving $500M+ per year in federal funding. DEFUND. PBS and NPR have got to go. Give everyone who works there 2 weeks notice, pay them 6 months severance, lock the doors on Feb. 1 and sell off the assets. Make it impossible to recreate in the future. Just get rid of every component in a liquidation sale so it simply doesn't exist in any form. No spin-off as an operating enterprise. Firesale of all the assets. And nothing of value would be lost.

BS needs to be defunded immediately. I don't know anyone that takes them seriously anymore. They have been transformed into a propaganda outlet. They, along with NPR, should be completely stripped of all federal funding. Then we watch them sink… These outlets will not survive in the media marketplace. Americans should not be forced to fund media organizations that actively work to undermine their interests. I have yet to see a good argument for why the Corporation for Public Broadcasting needs to be government funded. It provides absolutely no public good and serves only to spread propaganda. End taxes going to PBS now. They are a PAC. Force them to tell the truth about their aims and goals. PBS will not change so end the gravy train for them. These two people are part of the problem with the threats against his cabinet picks. Saying this kind of stuff will just push that narrative that the current administration pushed during the election. I hope DOGE takes a deep dive at their funding.
