Anyone who spends time with the Rt. Hon. A. Brian Peckford knows that he is a man of great learning and a passionate lover of books. He told Barry that he currently has about 30 titles on his reading list. Together, they discussed four books that he highly recommends for understanding the times in which we live. In this episode, they delve into Dr. Aaron Kheriaty's book, The New Abnormal: The Rise of the Biomedical Security State, and Dr. Victor Davis Hanson's recent publication, The End of Everything: How Wars Descend into Annihilation.

Peckford shares his love of learning with Barry and explains how his professors and teachers inspired him to be a lifelong student of history. "You gotta have some history," Peckford maintains, so you can understand "the larger context of things." Regarding Hanson's book, Peckford noted that it was written "right in the middle of this COVID situation, deliberately by Hanson, because he wanted to demonstrate that great cities and societies have disappeared due to their own folly, hubris, pride, and a lack of foresight, failing to learn from their past." In a similar vein, we experienced a folly during the COVID-19 pandemic when the government accepted the views of experts without serious cross-examination to determine the truth.
