It takes a lot to go to war. It takes even more to go to war in a foreign country... We spoke to two volunteers, from the US and Scotland, respectively, who have joined the Russian army. Alex and Jay told us all about their long road to Russia, both physical and metaphorical, and why they decided to fight in the SMO.

We discussed their training, everyday military life, MREs, their contracts with the Defence Ministry, their path to Russian citizenship... It was a very personal and candid conversation, as both of them have been members of the RWA community for a while, and we were very happy they agreed to share their perspective with us. It's not often you get to hear from that kind of voice.
