recorder house near reservoir

this is the recorder house, which I think does as the name says, records the amount of compensation flow into the adjacent brook from the nearby reservoir. There is an open sump or well where the torrent of water can be seen, but the actual stone hut itself is locked, perhaps for H and S reasons and to prevent theft and disruption to the flow, as by law the water board has to compensate the brook.
