The Bridge Curse 2 | Delving Into Taiwanese Horror

Hello Im Skill Incarnate and Welcome to My Games Review Series.
My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review. In this episode I'm checking out a new Survival Horror Game called The Bridge Curse 2: The Extrication.

The Bridge Curse 2 is the sequel to the Bridge Curse, which was also based on the Movie and the Book of the same name. The game takes place in the fictional Wen Hua University, an institution with a dark history of ghostly activity. The player controls several characters across the games campaign, including Sue Lian, an ambitious reporter investigating the Universitys history, and a group of film students, who are creating a film based on the mysterious disapperance of several students in the past

The Player controls each of the main cast, as they explore the Halls of Wen Hua University. Youll search for clues on the
origin of the Curse and the Universitys Dark History, relying on your wits and the Anima Lamp, a powerful artifact with the ability to detect supernatural activity. You will also need to evade the evil spirits hunting you. Youll use the games stealth system to remain hidden from the hostile entities, learning their behaviours and backstory in order to thwart them. In addition to uncovering the lore of the Bridge Curse , the game also boasts a variety of puzzles that provide a challenge without causing excessive frustration.

While the game does suffer from an overreliance on scripted cutscenes which do impact the immersion factor, it is still an immersive horror experience with some creative puzzles and a very interesting story. I will definitely be checking out the other games in the series.
